Aussie MMA gets a big-screen moment: Bren Foster brings Western Sydney fight drama RELENTLESS to the world

Australia’s fight community is set to feature on the global stage again, with Blacktown-raised martial artist, actor and former Hex Fight Series commentator Bren Foster writing, directing and starring in RELENTLESS, a new action-drama filming across Western Sydney and already locked for worldwide distribution (excluding ANZ).

The story

A former soldier and fighter is forced back into the underground arena, this time to beat the clock, not an opponent. Fighting for family and legacy, he risks everything as the line between sacrifice and self-destruction blurs. Expect high-impact martial arts powered by a grounded, emotional core.

Stacked cast, real pedigree

Alongside Foster, RELENTLESS features Matt Passmore (Jigsaw, North Shore), Amanda Righetti (Friday the 13th, The Mentalist), Aaron Glenane (Snowpiercer), and Callan Mulvey (Batman v Superman). It’s a blend of homegrown talent and international name power backing an Aussie story.

Backing the bout

Produced by Spinning Plates Productions (Foster & Navid Bahadori) with support from Screen NSW and partners including Spirit Media, Broken Yellow, Bluestone Media, Eclectik Vision and Alceon Entertainment Partners. The film will be introduced to international buyers at Berlin’s European Film Market (EFM) in February 2026.
