Fusion Fighting Championship unveils Gold Coast amateur MMA event

Fusion Fighting Championship has announced its inaugural amateur MMA event will take place on the Gold Coast on Saturday, 28 November 2026.

The promotion says FFC Fight Night 2 will feature 15 amateur bouts at SOPO in Southport, with under-18 and adult competitors included across the card. Athlete registrations are now open.

FFC Fight Night 2 to feature 15 amateur MMA bouts

Under-18 amateur MMA will open the event before the preliminary card combines under-18 and adult contests. The main card will then be dedicated to adult amateur MMA.

FFC said the format was intended to give younger competitors an opportunity to appear on the same event as adult athletes while maintaining distinct sections across the program.

“Showcasing our junior athletes before transitioning into the adult card reflects our commitment to developing the sport from the grassroots through to the adult ranks,” an FFC spokesperson said.

The promotion said athletes from across Australia are expected to compete. Individual match-ups and participating gyms were not included in the initial announcement.

Gold Coast event forms part of FFC growth

FFC described the amateur event as another step in the promotion’s development, with the Gold Coast card creating further competition opportunities outside its established events.

“We’re excited to bring Amateur MMA to the Gold Coast and provide a platform for athletes of all ages to compete in a professionally run environment,” the spokesperson said.

The announcement follows previous FFC events in Queensland, including appearances at SOPO. The venue is located at 36 Scarborough Street in Southport.
